The story behind Winsa: from family business to online adventure

Hi there,

I’m Sayenna, the face behind Winsa – a business that started as a family project and has now become my own personal entrepreneurial journey.

The name Winsa is actually a creative mash-up my parents came up with, combining my brother Ashwin’s name with mine. Pretty cool, right?

Our story goes back to 2008, when my parents opened a tobacco, souvenir, and gift shop right in the heart of Dordrecht. In 2021, I took over the reins – a big moment that even got featured in a fun article by indebuurt Dordrecht.

After 14 years of helping out our loyal and amazing customers, I made a big decision in 2023: to close our physical shop and go all-in on our online presence. It was a scary step, but it fits perfectly with my passion for finding and sharing personal, meaningful gifts with a wider audience.

The online chapter of Winsa has only just begun, and I can’t wait to help you find that perfect gift – the kind that really shows you’ve put thought into it. That’s what Winsa is all about: not the biggest or most expensive gifts, but those thoughtful little surprises that leave a lasting impression.
